Teacher Bio:
Silvia Wiedmann holds a BA in Art Education from San Diego State University, a Clear California Teaching Credential with CLAD emphasis, and a Master’s degree in Education in Curriculum Development and Instruction with Technology emphasis. She has been teaching art at the high school level since 1998; currently instructing Drawing & Painting 1, Adv. Drawing & Painting 2 and Fashion Design at La Costa Canyon High School in the San Dieguito High School District. At her previous school, Silvia Wiedmann established the first AP Studio Art courses in 2004 and co-authored a Foundations of Visual Art course, covering 2D, 3D, and digital art in 2012. This course established an in-depth 4 year visual art program. As an active member of SDCAEA, San Diego California Art Education Association, she aims to connect teachers, parents, and students to the latest resources developed to enrich teachers' careers and students art education. In the classroom, her goal is to support students in finding their own visual art paths and following it to post-high school success.
